This policy explains what information JDJ Design collects through jdjdesignco.com, why it is collected, and who else sees it. It applies to this website and to inquiries sent to john@jdjdesignco.com.
Before publishing: set the date at the top. This draft is a starting point, not legal advice — have an attorney review it alongside the terms of service, and ask specifically about GDPR language if you take clients in the EU or UK.

What we collect
Information you give us
When you submit the inquiry form or email directly, we receive whatever you send: your name, company, or brand name, email address, the markets you sell into, the service you are interested in, your budget range, and your description of the project. Any files or attachments you send come with it.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — as part of delivering the site and protecting it from abuse.
We do not currently run any analytics or visitor-tracking software on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party services you choose to use — a scheduling page or payment checkout — may set their own cookies under their own policies.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiry and discuss whether we are a fit.
- To schedule and deliver consultations and design work.
- To invoice and process payments.
- To keep records of past and ongoing engagements.
- To comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to a marketing list without your asking.
Who else sees it
Running the business requires a small number of service providers, each of which handles data under its own privacy terms:
- Website hosting — serves the site and logs standard request data.
- Form handling — receives inquiry form submissions and forwards them to our inbox.
- Email — hosts the john@jdjdesignco.com mailbox.
- Scheduling — manages consultation bookings and calendar availability.
- Payments — processes consultation fees, deposits, and invoices. We never see or store your full card number.
- Accounting — records transactions for tax purposes.
Project work may involve sharing technical information with manufacturing partners, including factories located in China. We share a client's confidential project information with a factory only as needed to quote, engineer, or produce that client's own project, and we ask partners to keep it confidential. If you would rather sign a mutual NDA before sending anything sensitive, say so in your first email.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to work are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Records relating to paid engagements — contracts, invoices, correspondence, and deliverables — are kept for at least seven years to satisfy tax and record-keeping requirements, and often longer where a design may need to be referenced or defended.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email john@jdjdesignco.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Residents of California, and of other states with comparable consumer privacy laws, have specific rights to access, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we will honor access and deletion requests regardless of where you live.
Security
We use reputable providers, keep accounts protected with strong authentication, and limit access to project information to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Do not send anything through this site that you would not want disclosed in the event of a breach.
Age restriction
This site is intended for business use by people aged 21 and over, and for licensed and compliant businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be communicated directly.
